Enhancing Funafuti residents’ well-being and quality of life by providing access to improved water supply and sanitation services and building their resilience to the projected impacts of climate change.
Enhancing Funafuti residents’ well-being and quality of life by providing access to improved water supply and sanitation services and building their resilience to the projected impacts of climate change.
Hygiene awareness is one of the components under the Funafuti Water Supply and Sanitation
Project (FWSSP). Despite the residents’ desire to tackle these issues and disseminate
knowledge on good hygiene practices, hygiene behaviors in Funafuti are negatively influenced
by the lack of water and sanitation facilities. Therefore, improved programs are required to
promote sustainable hygiene awareness and behavior and safety of drinking water.
Effective communication is an essential underpinning of all FWSSP activities. The communication approaches detailed in the Stakeholders Communication Strategy (SCS) prioritise meaningful consultation with different groups of stakeholders through dialogue and feedback. These approaches encourage active engagement of communities in the development and implementation of project activities.’.
Environmental and Social Safeguards are policies and guidelines that aim to protect people and their environment from potential adverse effects of project activities.
The GRM is a formal system or set of arrangements, including institutions and processes, for receiving and resolving project-related complaints and disputes.
The GAP promotes gender mainstreaming across the FWSSP and women’s full participation in project activities.
